HKVA 2 day Basic Small Animal Abdominal Ultrasound Course

Objective:
Getting you 100 % confident performing full thorough abdominal ultrasound examination (scanning protocol & technique) & basic interpretation (normal morphology, most common pathologies).
About the Course
- Participants will be scanning in small groups (3 attendees per station) in order to maximise hands on scanning time and practical guidance.
- Each group will have its own ultrasound system.
- Participants will need to bring their own animal(s) for scanning, and are responsible for sedation if required.
- Total CPD 14 points (7 points per day)
- Approved by the Hong Kong Veterinary Surgeons Board and AAVSB’s Registry of Approved Continuing Education

HKVA Evening Seminar: A systematic approach to
ECG interpretation beyond pattern recognition

Objective:
Having you confident on how to perform a thorough Echocardiogram examination (scanning protocol (all standard cardiac views and basic measurements), how to generate and interpret Doppler signals).
Lectures will be illustrated with large amount of Case Discussion in order to get you familiar with basic Echocardiography interpretation and ultrasonographic findings in most common acquired cardiac diseases in both dogs and cats.
About the Course

HKVA Evening Seminar: What is new in the treatment of heart failure in dogs and cats?

Treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs has been widely debated and the first consensus statement for dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease was published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal medicine in 2009 as “ACVIM consensus statement for the treatment of canine chronic valvular heart disease”. This statement was recently updated 2019 and will be presented. Management of congestive heart failure and arterial thromboembolism in cast will also be discussed.
